Project Info
The brief for this project was to create an info graphical poster about a topic of your choosing. I am a fanatic golfer and have always been interested technological advancements in golf clubs and balls over the history of the sport, so I decided to focus on this topic.
The main intention of this infographic is to highlight innovations in golf equipment technology starting from the late 1800s to modern times and associate those feats with distance progression. The infographic shines a light on significant clubs and balls that have shaped the game into the long distance game we see today. Each time frame is then backed up with PGA Tour average driving distances during those periods, to help show the growth in distances as a result of the progression in technology. I also wanted to highlight historical major golf events and how the technology played a part in those major victories. The story I am trying to highlight in my infographic is the impact of technological progression in a certain sport. How with advancements in materials, manufacturing processes, development processes, we have come to a pinnacle time of athletic advancement.
