Project Info
Inspired by the current trend in portable living situations, our objective for this project was to create a one bedroom one bathroom no bigger than 300 square foot, around the normal size of a shipping container. My design really consisted of the idea of a two stage experience, living inside and living outside. With the small space given, I really wanted a layout that would also emphasize the outdoor living experience. I designed a porch area that has a collapsible canopy design, so it could be portable with the rest of the house. The house has a slanted roof to maximize interior space, similarly to the canopy. The interior is efficiently sectioned out, with a combined living and eating space, small kitchenette with an adjacent bathroom, and a loft area above the kitchen and bathroom space.
